Organization Membership

For organizations with members and a mandate for history, heritage or culture.

  • Based on organization size*, small $50, medium $75, large $100.
  • One calendar year starting Feb 1.
  • Includes historical societies, museums, cultural centres.

Affiliate Membership

For other types of organizations, institutions, and businesses.

  • $75 annual fee.
  • One calendar year, starting when membership is activated.
  • One membership per organization.
  • Includes universities, non-profit societies and libraries.

Individual Membership

For individuals who support the mandate of the BCHF.

  • $50 annual fee.
  • One calendar year, starting when membership is activated.

* Organizations will self-identify which category they feel they belong in (small, medium, large). The suggested definitions of small, medium and large are not prescriptive, but used to provide an example of how to gauge the size of an organization. The honour system is used.

Small:

  • Has less than 30 members; and/or
  • Is completely volunteer run; and/or
  • Has a small annual operating budget (<$50,000).

Medium:

  • Has 75 members or less; and/or
  • Has 1-5 paid staff members; and/or
  • Has a medium annual operating budget ($50,000-$300,000).

Large:

  1. Has more than 75 members; and/or
  2. Has more than 5 paid staff members; and/or
  3. Has a larger annual operating budget ($300,000+).
