Sarah was elected President of the BCHF in May 2025 after joining as a Director in 2024. She holds a BA in English Literature with a minor in First Nations and Indigenous Studies, and an MA in Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of British Columbia with a community-centered research background in early Chinese and Indigenous relations. Born and raised in Prince Rupert, BC with ancestral ties to Toisan, China and Hong Kong, she is passionate about fostering intercultural connections and sharing unique stories across the province in creative ways. As a documentary filmmaker, she has produced several award-winning films including All Our Father’s Relations (2016) and was selected for the 2025-2026 Telus Storyhive Pan-Asian Storyteller Program. Her current film project is China Lily Nation.

In May 2026, Sarah was elected to the Vancouver Historical Society’s Board of Directors. She was the first staff member of the Chinese Canadian Museum from 2020 to 2025 where she managed and co-curated several of the museum’s exhibitions. She is the co-founder of Chinatown Wonders and Past-President of the Chinese Canadian Historical Society of BC.
