Lisa is a public historian committed to community-based research and sharing stories rooted in place. She has been attending BCHF conferences for more than 20 years, and for the past two years has been a member of the jury for the BCHF historical writing awards.

Lisa holds a Master’s Degree from Simon Fraser University, where she studied history, and a Diploma in Cultural Resource Management from the University of Victoria. She has worked for the City of Burnaby since 2005, as the Curator of the Burnaby Village Museum from 2005 to 2019, and more recently as the City’s Heritage Planner. She is also the owner of Shared Solutions, a consulting company that assists local governments and non-profit organizations with collections management, interpretation, and communications. Lisa previously served as editor for the BC Museums Association’s “Round-Up” magazine, was director of the BCMA Council, and served on the executive and as president of the Archives Association of BC.
