Elwin originally trained in theatre stage lighting, but through his involvement in theatre— he discovered the power of stories to inform, connect, and inspire. This realization led him to pursue storytelling as his true calling. Elwin has dedicated the past 17 years to serving as a museum interpreter at the Burnaby Village Museum, where he brings local history to life through engaging storytelling. Building on this foundation, he spent three years at the Chinese Canadian Museum before transitioning to the Chinatown Storytelling Centre. There, he continues to share stories from his community that celebrate culture, community, and history.

Beyond his work in museums, he also supports both the Vancouver Historical Society and the BC Historical Federation with his AV skills helping make local heritage accessible to a wider audience.
